Entry into
Spiritual Life:
As Hazrat Shah Sufi Sayyid Muhammad Kamar Uddin Ahmad Rahmatullahi Alaihi was a family member of the Prophet's(sallallahu alaihi wasallam) family, so he was always in love with the Prophet (Peace be upon him). He was spending his days in extreme unrest regarding where to go to meet Allah Ta'ala and his beloved Habib Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam,He began searching for a Haqqani mursheed (true mentor) in the spiritual world. Thus he restlessly searched for murshids (mentor). In this situation, one of his uncles taught him the method of Istekhara ( a prayer to ask for guidance from Allah) and said, “Through this Istekhara, you will know who will be your Morsheed (Spiritual Master)”. Then one day he saw in a dream that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), showed him the face of a pure pious man and asked him to take Bayat (an oath of allegiance to a master or emir). But he did not mention his name and address. Whenever he went to work in different places, he would look for the murshid he saw in his dreams. After many days of searching, when he came to Noakhali as 'Assistant Postmaster General', then when he described it to an officer of the postal department under him, he said, "Sir, I know such a person as you have described." Hearing this, he became emotional and restless and learned the name and address from him. Finally, according to the address, he reached Majumdar's house Kachari by walking on a slippery road through Khejurtala of Mirwarishpur under Begumganj police station of Noakhali district. Then he called from Kachari and said, “Is there anybody at home’?Then the pious man seen in his dream (who is Imam (leader) Allama Doctor Muhammad Badiuzzaman Rahmatullahi Alaihi of the Tariqa-e Madinar Jamaat) stood at the door with a hurricane in his hand and looked at the Kachari house. Seeing the pious man's face in the hurricane light, he was overwhelmed with emotion. At that time, the Pious man immediately came to the living room and said,’ Who are you and why have you come to me’? Then he replied, ‘My name is Muhammad Kamar Uddin Ahmad. I am a spiritual patient. I have come to you for spiritual treatment’.Hearing this, Doctor Badiuzzaman Rahmatullahi Alaihi said to him, "I am a doctor. How will I treat you spiritually?" In fact, Doctor Badiuzzaman Rahmatullahi Alaihi wanted to avoid it somehow. At this stage, Kamar Uddin Ahmad started crying by hugging his feet and said, "I have been introduced to you by the Habib of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He commanded me to take Bayat to you. So you would not turn me down”. Hearing this, Doctor Badiuzzaman Rahmatullahi Alaihi hugged him to his chest and said that you will recite more and more Durood-e- Ummi.Since then his continuous pursuit began. Then wherever his Murshid went, he also went there. Once he came to know that Mursheed Qibla had come to Noakhali bus station to go to Comilla. There he rushed with the office car and met his Murshid Qibla. He begged his murshid Qibla to go home. But his murshid Qibla was not agreeing at all. He said, if you don't go to my house today, your bus will drive over my dead body. Saying this, he lay down on the road in front of the bus. Inevitably his Morshed Qibla picked him up and said, 'Ai Kemne Jayyum' (How shall I go). He said, I have a car. “Ai govt car te jaitan no” (I will not go in a government car). When he showed the receipt of oil purchased at his own expense, Murshed Qibla first went to his house. After that, Murshed Qibla went to his house many times and spent the nights there. He and his family were engaged in the service of Murshid Qibla. Murshid Qibla used to teach ta'leem and tahajjuh in his house and gave high-level Sabak/stations (spiritual stage) to many. But he did not sit with him. In such a ceremony, he prayed to his Murshid Qibla and said, "Bajan what will happen to me! I have not gotten to the Shabak/station. What will I do! What will I live with!". Then his Murshid Qibla called a Muballig and said, "Sit with him."The said Muballig gave him 5 Latifah, Sultanul Azkar, Noor Chhabak and Ziyarat Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam respectively according to the order of Murshid Qibla. Allama Kamar Uddin Ahmad (RA) said, ‘After receiving the luminous didar (seeing) of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, for three years, Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam did not hide himself from my sight even for a single moment’. He also said, "Rasul Akram, may Allah’s peace be upon him, gave me a place in his heart/qalb." Later, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) himself gave me Sayre Afakir(spiritual station). For this reason, my Murshid Qibla gave me the title of ‘Specialist in Sayre-e- Afak’ .He would often say in a tearful voice while reminiscing about his Murshid Qibla, that there is only one best event in my life, and that is my meeting with my Murshid Qibla.
