arrow

This great personality was born on Tuesday 13th May 1969 at Pathan House of Noagaon Union under Ramganj Thana of the present Lakshmipur District. His father was Muhtaram Mohammad Khan (R), a distinguished scholar and Qari and his mother was Muhtarama Nurunnisa (R), a noblewoman. Both of them were very pious and ascetic, and he is the youngest among their four sons and one daughter.

Since his father was a prominent scholar and Qari, he started acquiring his basic education from his father. In the month of January 1976, he commenced his institutional education by enrolling in the first class in "No. 13 Noagaon Panchayat Bari Govt. Primary School". After studying there for 5 months, he was admitted to "Noagaon Bazar Govt. Primary School" in June of the same year. In 1977, without studying in any school for the second grade, he got admitted to the third grade in "Tejgaon Govt. High School" in Dhaka. After passing that class with merit in 1978, he continued his study of class four in the same institution till June. Meanwhile, he was suffering from a severe allergy, and he had to return to his village home in July. He was again admitted to the fourth class in "No. 13 Noagaon Panchayat Bari Govt. Primary School" from where he passed the fifth standard with merit in 1979. And in 1980, he was admitted to the sixth standard in "Noagaon Public Welfare High School". When he was in ninth grade, his father left this world in 1983 (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun) His father used to cry to Allah many times in his stupor: "Oh Allah, make my Humayun a scholar and Wali (islamic saint)". In 1985, he participated in the SSC examination from the science section of that institution under the jurisdiction of the Comilla Education Board, and passed with the second division. Later he was admitted to Dhaka City College for his higher secondary(college) education. While studying in the 11th of college, his father's last wish was being reflected repeatedly in his mind; so he decided to study in a Madrasa with a strong determination & desire to become an ‘Alim, (Islamic Scholar).Since he was a school student(general curriculum), he had to finish the syllabus of Madrasa (Islamic Curriculum) up to class/grade eight(8) privately at the Islamic Research Center, 44 Purana Paltan of Dhaka, which was founded by Barrister Mawlana Kurban Ali in 1985. One of those who contributed to his private study period was Saifuddin Yahya- the Editor of Monthly Kaaba’r Path-e.In the month of January 1986, he got admitted to the 10th standard at Kazipara Siddikia Fazil Madrasah. With the aim of gaining better education, in August of that year, he was readmitted to the 10th grade at Dhaka Kaderia Taiyebiyah Kamil Madrasah(Mohammadpur, Dhaka). In 1987, he participated in the Dakhil(Secondary Certificate Exam) examination from that institution and achieved a rare achievement of passing with the first division, as a result of which, a piece of news about him was published in the daily Inqilab newspaper with his roll number and photo. In 1987, He enrolled in the first year of Alim(11th Grade in Islamic Curriculum) at Jamia Qasmia Kamil Madrasah (Gabtoli, Narsingdi). Because of his family’s permanent residence in Dhaka, after four months of study in that institution, he was readmitted to Alim class at Misbahul Uloom Kamil Madrasa located in Fakirapool, Dhaka in the same year. In 1989, he participated in the Alim examination from that institution, passed with the second division and was admitted to Fazil class (Honors Grade ) there. In 1991, he achieved second division in Fazil Final Examination and was admitted to Kamil Class(MS Grade) in the Hadith section at the Government Madrasa-e Alia, Dhaka. In 1993, he secured “first class'’ in the Kamil Exam . He achieved 95% marks in Viva Voce of Kamil Exam, which is an extra-ordinary result in the history of the Madrasa Education Board. On the other hand , after passing Alim grade(11th &12th grade), he participated in the admission test of 'B' unit to study 3-year BA (Hons) in Dhaka University in the academic year of 1989-90. And he secured 903rd place in the merit list among 28000 candidates. When he wanted to be admitted to the Department of Economics according to the merit list, the then university authorities admitted him to the Department of Islamic History and Culture without giving him the opportunity to be admitted to the Department of Economics, because he was of Madrasa background. It was an unfortunate & discriminatory action against an eligible meritorious student, just because he came through a little different but government approved curriculum. In 1992, he secured the sixth place in the merit list of BA (Honors) final examination, and received a scholarship from the university. In 1993, he passed the Masters examination from that department with the eighth position in the merit list and received a scholarship again.
